Building on their strong product momentum since 1971 and becoming a world-class innovation brand,  Terramar is celebrating their 50 years of innovation with the launch of new products and fabrics in their  2021 / 2022 collection. Founded in 1971 as an importer of oiled wool sweaters and foul weather  clothing from the U.K., the brand has continuously provided millions of consumers with revolutionary  fabrics keeping them warm, comfortable, and stylish over the years. When the brand launched  ThermaSilk® in the 1980’s, Terramar quickly became known for their quality and unique fabrics and  became the largest importer of pure silk underwear in the world. Today, the brand continues to  innovate through baselayers which are part of a layering system to keep you warm and dry through any  level of activity or climate.

Terramar has always been a fabric first brand. This means that all the fabrics Terramar uses are  engineered and made for and by Terramar. “Over the years we have pushed our R&D department to  find and create fabrics that deliver the benefits our consumers require. Through our amazing sourcing,  we have created fabrics such as ThermaWool®, ThermaSilk® and the use of recycled materials in many  of our garments. For the next 50 years, we will continue our focus on developing new fabrications and raising the bar on sustainability through our organization, making sure we protect the earth that we  encourage people to get out and enjoy,” stated Miriam Lieberman, Terramar’s Vice President.

“From a user standpoint, the Fusion men’s and women’s tops and bottoms are some of our most  innovative products to date. The use of Graphene in the fabric helps with thermoregulation as well as  acts as an odor inhibitor, has an integrated balaclava, and has a UPF rating of 50+ makes this an ideal  piece for many cold-weather outdoor activities,” remarked Benjamin Smith, Terramar’s Chief Innovation  Officer. New for the 2021 / 2022 season is the introduction of Graphene into the new Fusion Mid-Layer. This revolutionary fabric provides superior warmth through the use of a proprietary Graphene infused  polyester which produces a lightweight, soft and strong garment. The Fusion collection also utilizes a  waterless dying process saving about 70% of the water normally used to dye fabric during production.

Also new for the 2021 / 2022 season is a new women’s collection called ‘Below Zero’. The Below Zero  midweight collection offers extra durable 4-way stretch fabric that takes prints well and is great for  layering. Terramar is also offering women’s prints for the Ultra Merino and Cloud Nine collections.
