Equinix Inc. improved its score for innovation more than any other company in the latest Management Top 250, followed by Microsoft Corp. and Capital One Financial Corp.

The Management Top 250 ranking, developed by the Drucker Institute, measures corporate effectiveness by examining performance in five categories: customer satisfaction, employee engagement and development, innovation, social responsibility and financial strength.

Equinix’s innovation score rose 36.9 points from a year earlier to 97.5, giving it the fifth-best score for the category among Management Top 250 companies in the latest ranking. Microsoft’s innovation score rose 21.4 points to 136.2 and Capital One’s climbed 20.6 points to 92.8. Both companies’ innovation scores are among the top 10 for the latest Management Top 250, at No. 2 for Microsoft and No. 6 for Capital One. Amazon.com Inc. had the fourth-biggest gain in innovation scores among the Management Top 250 and the highest innovation score of any company.

Equinix also had the biggest gain in overall score among the Management Top 250, and Capital One had the second-biggest. Corteva Inc. , Western Union Co. and Prudential Financial Inc. also were among the 10 biggest gainers both in innovation and overall.

Prudential and Capital One also were among the Management Top 250 companies with the 10 biggest gains in scores for financial strength.
